Start mining PIRATE (PoW)

The PoW mining is available only for first 100 000 blocks.

Blocks left PoW: 25370

Mining software

The first step is to download appropriate mining software.

A good basic miner for CPUs can be found here:

https://github.com/pooler/cpuminer/releases

Configuration

For mining you can use SOLO Mining and join to the pools isn't needed because it needs for generate first money supply.

Next, open Notepad and type in on one line the command we will use to start the miner, followed by pause on the second line. The general format is as follows:

<minerd> -a <algorithm> -o <url> -u <username> -p <password> -t <threads>

Where:

minerd = the executable miner daemon file you choose to use

a = algorithm, which is SCRYPT for PIRATE

o = URL of you RPC wallet 127.0.0.1:11888

u = RPC username from your config file

p = RPC password from your config file

t = number of threads used

Sample configuration file (it is created automatically):

rpcuser=LNVXP
rpcpassword=Q1NfTkUQBa8uGz6
rpcport=11888
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
daemon=1
server=1
listen=1
txindex=1

For the CPU in the example above, the command may be:

minerd -a scrypt -o 127.0.0.1:11888 -u LNVXP -p Q1NfTkUQBa8uGz6 -t 1

Start staking PIRATE (PoS)

All you need is to have a small number of coins that are 8 hours old or more. The first coins can be mined using PoW mining, which is available up to 100,000 blocks.

Please run your PIRATE application and navigate to Settings and choose Unlock Wallet...

Enter your passphrase and checkbox "For staking only" must be enabled, and press "Ok"

In the bottom right corner of the application, you will see a lightning bolt icon and it should turn black if you have coins and they are older than 8 hours.
